Kid skiing

Below you can see Daniel in skiis. There are also some pictures of Johanna, Leo and others. Åre is further north than Anchorage so there were only 3 hours daylight and unpredictable weather.

Old clips of Kristian

Below are some very old clips compiled. These were taken with a Nikon Super 8 camera. I added music from around the same time. It is not very exiting but it is interesting to see the dresses.

Christmas in Åre

This Christmas we went skiing in Åre with Anna's family. We were 18 of us living under one roof. The kids had a great time with their cousins. They also got to experience real winter weather with a lot of snow and a snowstorm. They all improved their skiing a lot. Daniel was able to get down steeper slopes. Leo improved on his parallel turns and Johanna did some difficult skiing outside the groomed slopes. Johanna got a camera that she used to take these pictures.

Waiting for the school bus

Now it is cold and dark when the kids wait for the bus in the morning. It comes to the farm so we can wait with them when it is too dark. This morning we got the first snow as well. The kids were very happy! Below is a video clip showing darkness!

Johanna performing with Bjäre Kids

We are very fortunate to have some good musicians and songwriters that live in the area. Hasse Andersson who is a local version of Kenny Rogers and his whife Monica came up with the idea to start a local choir. They involved one of the their band members, Nadja to to train the kids and she did a gread job. Hasse wrote a song the the kids as well that they are planning to record early 2012.

Leo Dancing

This weekend Leo had a dance performance. He just started so this was his first dance performance. We were very impressed of how he did. He must have inherited some talent from his parents.

Daniel is having a birthday party

Daniel had a birthday party at home. Since he is very interested in Titanic we made the invitations like Titanic tickets. Daniel had some interesting suggestions for survival games that we decided to skip. We played musical chairs, hide and seek, had a treasure hunt and the traditional Swedish fish pond. That is when the kids fish for their goodie back behind a curtain.

Cake is coming!

 Wishing for Lego???

Got a T-shirt and more...

Daniel turns 6

Daniel turned 6 yesterday. He was sleeping deeply when we woke him up with a bithday song. When he saw the presents he got very excited. Daneil builds Lego whenever he can so he was hoping for some good things to build.

 Still a little tired

Same friends, different country.

This summer we were not the only ones moving back to Sweden from Seattle.  Our friends Jenny and Henrik with their three kids and Lotta and Jonas with their two kids also moved back.  We all live within 1.5 hours drive from eachother so we can meet, have dinner and talk about "the good old days".  When we all met on Saturday Daniel said "This is great, it is just like home in the US".

Taco Time!

A very Swedish "tradition" is to eat tacos on Fridays.  Since we are not very traditional we had it last Sunday instead.  The kids love this and think we should have tacos at least three times a week.  Unfortunately Kristian missed this taco dinner since he is in the US for the moment.

Liseberg

A few weekends ago Anna and the kids went to Gothenburg to spend some time with Malin and Nina at Liseberg (an amusement park).  It rained most of the time but we still had a blast!  Kristian stayed at home and played golf.

Johanna was this happy after the first roller coaster

The kids won 2kg (a bit over 4 lbs) of chocolate.
